Hello and Welcome!
Annie Kendig, LPCC-S LICDC

Specialties: Perfectionism in the forms of Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse
Hi, I’m Annie.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor, mom of three, and lifelong creative. Most days you’ll find me toggling between therapy sessions, recording podcast episodes, making art, and wrangling nap times.
Over the years, I’ve realized that much of my own inner work has centered around perfectionism— learning how to loosen my grip, embrace experimentation, and trust the process rather than obsess over the outcome. My art projects (no matter how messy), my writing, and even my podcast have all become ways I practice this. They keep me grounded and remind me that growth doesn’t require “getting it right”; it just requires showing up.
I specialize in treating trauma and substance abuse and am trained in EMDR, which I often combine with expressive arts-based interventions. Whether it’s through painting, collage, visual journaling, or weird eye movements, I love gently guiding clients outside of their comfort zone to access new methods of healing. There’s something powerful about using creativity to explore, process, and heal. I have found that perfectionism cannot live in true creativity.
My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and empowering. I believe in talking about mental health in a grounded, real-life way—one that makes room for strength, humor, imperfection, and curiosity. Conversations with my clients, friends, family, and colleagues constantly inspire me and often spill over into my podcast, where I explore mental health topics through an honest and creative lens.
If you’re looking for a space to explore your story in new, imaginative (and imperfect) ways, you’re in the right place. You can learn more about working with me—or listen to the podcast—right here on the site, or on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Stephanie Kemme, LPCC-S

Specialties: Perfectionism in the form of Sports performance and anxiety and marriage and family issues
“Hi, I’m Stephanie.
As a licensed therapist, former Division I athlete, and mom of three, I’ve spent much of my life navigating the tension between high standards and self-compassion. My own experience in competitive sports taught me how easily discipline can slide into perfectionism—and how important it is to stay rooted in a sense of purpose, flexibility, and resilience.
That’s the lens I bring into therapy. Whether I’m working with an individual, a couple, or a team, my goal is to help you feel both empowered and equipped—not just to meet your goals, but to meet yourself with kindness along the way. I offer both counseling and coaching with a practical, strengths-based approach, so you leave each session with tools you can use right away.
I especially love supporting athletes and high-achieving individuals who are hitting invisible walls in areas like performance, motivation, or confidence. So often, it’s not skill that’s holding us back—it’s mindset. My work as a volunteer coach and sports performance counselor has shown me how transformative it can be to address those internal blocks and build mental strength from the inside out.
If you (or your child) are feeling stuck, drained, or overwhelmed by your own expectations, I’d love to help. Together, we can build the kind of resilience that shows up—on and off the field.
