Journal Everyday

I have a bad memory. I am also bad at doing something every day. This resolution will hopefully combat those issues.

My reasons for wanting to journal every day is to help me remember more, hopefully knowing that I have to journal that night will help remind myself to slow down, take notice, and be present.

I used to keep a journal when I was in middle school. I remember it being so helpful, it got me through some hard times. Even if I never look at this journal again, I think it will be helpful in that way again.

I didn’t go out and buy a fancy new journal to entice myself to fulfill this resolution. I used one I had laying around the house, probably from when I have made this resolution before. I have our by my bed with a pen so that I see it right before I go to bed.

That’s how habits are formed: you start with a “cue”, seeing the journal, and it propels the “routine”, writing in it every night, which produces the “reward”, I stick to my resolution and that feels good!

I’ve kept to this resolution for about a week and a half so far, ever since I knew I wanted this to be one of my resolutions. This week is all about sticking to that journal.

What things do you use to remember your days, weeks, months, years?

How do you stick to a routine everyday?

What habit have you always wanted to form and just haven’t yet?
