I call this week’s resolution “…Is a Temple”, a short biblical saying, taken out of context to remind myself to treat my body with respect. Meaning giving it good food, the exercise it needs, and other things it needs to be the healthiest it can be. This month is going to be tough for me. I am a self-admitted reward-focused person. I would go for a run as long as the ice cream store was my destination, or I would have end my week of healthy eating with a pizza and half a chocolate cake because “I deserved it”. This month is going to require an entire mindset shift. But first, my takeaways from this past month:
- Spiritual life is fulfilling, it means something, it provides meaning in ways that other things can’t.
- Turning off the TV and limiting screen time is worth it! It improves sleep, productivity levels, and is good for your brain
- One sentence a day journal keeps me gracious and mindful
The breakdown of my resolutions for this month are:
Workouts:focusing on finding opportunities to exercise or do an activity that challenges my body. I am going to be very fluid with this resolution because I know if I tell myself I have to work out everyday, then I won’t do it. Workouts can mean yoga, going for a walk, lifting at a gym or a body weight workout at home. My focus is just to move.
Tattoos/piercings/etc.: I like tattoos, I have several myself. I want to research more about the types of body “mutilations” that people go through. Is this a form of treating your body “as a temple”? or no? What about tattoos/piercings appeals to some people and not others?
Body health: I will be testing out different “holistic” remedies, solutions, and techniques. These include dry brushing, diffusing and diluting essential oils, and detoxifying. I have heard of a lot of different ‘fads’ and I want to try them out to see if any are worth while to incorporate into my daily routine.

If you are following along with me, what resolutions are you making for this month to focus on feeding your physical body in a healthy way?
